0.0723 troy oz .900 1891 Almost Unc

The year 1891 marked the final chapter for one of America's most enduring coin designs. This silver dime, minted in Philadelphia, showcases the artistry of Christian Gobrecht. Struck in 90 percent silver, the coin contains approximately 0.0715 troy ounces of precious metal, representing a standard of circulating currency backed by the United States government. On the obverse side, the figure of Liberty is depicted resting on a rock, holding a staff topped with a liberty cap in one hand while her other hand supports a shield. The date 1891 is placed directly below this central figure, surrounded by the legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. This elegant composition reflects the artistic sensibilities of nineteenth-century American engraving. The reverse of the coin focuses on simplicity and clarity. A detailed wreath wraps around the center of the field, enclosing the face value of ONE DIME. This specimen survives in Almost Uncirculated condition, preserving the fine details of the original engraving for modern observers to appreciate.
