0.4838 troy oz .900 1855 PCGS

In 1855, the Philadelphia Mint produced a run of 121,701 gold ten-dollar pieces. Lacking a mint mark, this specific issue represents the primary Pennsylvania facility's mid-nineteenth-century craftsmanship. The coin is struck in 90 percent pure gold, containing 0.4838 troy ounces of precious metal. This specimen survives today in an impressive state of preservation, certified by independent grading experts as About Uncirculated 58 (AU-58). At this grade level, the coin retains much of its original luster and sharp design details, showing only the slightest traces of wear from its brief time in circulation before being set aside. The inscriptions on the coin highlight its national origin and denomination. Legible lettering on the reverse displays the words STATES OF AMERICA alongside the face value of TEN D., while the obverse features the date of manufacture, 1855.
