0.0715 troy oz .900 1877 Almost Unc

Struck in 90% fine silver, this 1877 dime represents a fascinating era of American coinage. Minted at the historic Carson City facility in Nevada, the coin carries the famous "CC" mint mark, a detail that immediately connects it to the American West of the late nineteenth century. Having survived in Almost Uncirculated condition, this piece retains remarkable detail from its original production. The obverse features a classic design by Christian Gobrecht, showing Liberty seated upon a rock. In her right hand, she supports a shield, while her left hand holds a pole topped with a liberty cap. This iconic imagery was a staple of silver coinage throughout much of the 1800s. The reverse of the coin is simpler but elegant, displaying a detailed wreath that encircles the face value. The central inscription reads "ONE DIME", surrounded by the lush foliage of the wreath. Containing 0.0715 troy ounces of pure silver, this coin is a beautifully preserved specimen of early United States currency.
