1883-CC $10 Liberty Gold Eagle AU-50 PCGS

0.4838 troy oz .900 1883 PCGS

The year 1883 saw a remarkably small production of ten-dollar gold pieces at the legendary Carson City Mint in Nevada. Only 12,000 of these Liberty Gold Eagles were struck with the famous CC mint mark, making any surviving specimen a compelling subject for historical study. This particular coin has survived the decades in About Uncirculated 50 condition, preserving the intricate details of its nineteenth-century design. Crafted from 90 percent pure gold, this ten-dollar denomination contains 0.4838 troy ounces of precious metal. The obverse features the classic profile of Liberty wearing a coronet inscribed with her name, surrounded by stars and the 1883 date. The reverse displays the proud American eagle, the denomination, and the distinctive CC mint mark that connects this coin directly to the silver and gold rushes of the American West.
