1887 $10 Liberty Gold Eagle MS-60 NGC

0.4838 troy oz .900 1887 NGC

Struck in the late nineteenth century, this ten-dollar gold piece represents a classic era of American coinage. Minted in Philadelphia during 1887, the coin features a composition of 90 percent gold, containing 0.4838 troy ounces of the precious metal. This particular specimen has survived the decades in remarkable condition, earning a certified grade of Mint State 60 (MS-60). The obverse of the coin features a classic depiction of Liberty, while the reverse displays a detailed eagle design. The Philadelphia Mint produced only 53,600 of these ten-dollar pieces in 1887, making them a scarce artifact from this specific year of production. Because it was minted in Philadelphia, the coin carries no mint mark.
