The five cent piece underwent a classic transformation in the late nineteenth century, resulting in the iconic Liberty Head design. Minted in the year 1888 at the Philadelphia Mint, this particular coin belongs to a beloved era of United States coinage. Despite showing honest wear consistent with its Good grade, the coin still showcases the fundamental elements of Charles Barber's late Victorian design. On the obverse side, a left-facing portrait of Liberty is depicted wearing a coronet headdress. The year 1888 is displayed clearly beneath the bust. The reverse of the coin features a large Roman numeral V, representing the five-cent denomination, nestled inside a decorative wreath.
