0.0715 troy oz .900 1888 Very Good

Minted in the late nineteenth century, this 1888 ten-cent piece represents a classic era of American coinage. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, the coin is composed of 90% silver, containing approximately 0.0715 troy ounces of precious metal. Having survived decades of circulation, this specimen is graded in Very Good condition, showing the honest wear of a coin that once passed through many hands in daily commerce. The obverse features the iconic image of Lady Liberty seated on a rock, holding a staff topped with a liberty cap in one hand while her other hand rests on a shield inscribed with the word "LIBERTY". The year 1888 is anchored at the bottom of the design. On the reverse, a delicate wreath encircles the denomination, which is clearly spelled out as "ONE DIME". The legend "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" arches gracefully around the outer edge, marking this as an official sovereign issue backed by the United States government.
