Minted in the late nineteenth century, this 1888 ten-cent piece represents a classic era of American coinage. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, the coin is composed of 90% silver, containing approximately 0.0715 troy ounces of precious metal. Having survived decades of circulation, this specimen is graded in Very Good condition, showing the honest wear of a coin that once passed through many hands in daily commerce. The obverse features the iconic image of Lady Liberty seated on a rock, holding a staff topped with a liberty cap in one hand while her other hand rests on a shield inscribed with the word "LIBERTY".
