1889 Liberty Head V Nickel XF
Introduced in the late nineteenth century, this five-cent piece showcases the artistic vision of Charles Barber. The obverse side presents a dignified portrait of Liberty, who wears a crown inscribed with her own name. Thirteen stars encircle her profile, with the year 1889 anchored at the bottom of the design. Turning the coin over reveals a striking reverse dominated by a large Roman numeral V, representing its five-cent value. A decorative wreath surrounds the central numeral, while the national motto 'E Pluribus Unum' and the country's name frame the outer edge. This particular specimen survives in Extra Fine condition, preserving the crisp details of its classic engraving.
