1890 Liberty Head V Nickel VG

0.0000 troy oz 1890 Very Good

Introduced in the late nineteenth century, this five-cent piece represents a classic era of American coinage. The obverse features a left-facing portrait of Liberty, styled with a coronet or crown upon her head. Designed by Charles Barber, the imagery captures the artistic aesthetic of the United States Mint during the 1890s. The reverse of the coin is dominated by a large Roman numeral V, representing its five-cent value. This central symbol is encircled by a decorative wreath, with the traditional national motto E Pluribus Unum and the country name surrounding the central design. Struck in Philadelphia, this particular specimen has survived in Very Good condition, showing honest wear from its time in circulation.
