1912-D Liberty Head V Nickel XF
The 1912-D Liberty Head nickel represents a fascinating moment in United States coinage. Struck at the Denver Mint, this five-cent piece is part of the final year of regular issue for this iconic design series. This particular specimen survives in Extra Fine condition, preserving the crisp details of its century-old artistry. On the obverse, a left-facing portrait of Liberty is depicted wearing a coronet or crown, with her hair swept back. The word LIBERTY is inscribed upon her crown, accompanied by the date 1912 at the bottom of the coin. The reverse side features a large Roman numeral V, representing the denomination of five. This central symbol is encircled by a decorative wreath. The national motto E PLURIBUS UNUM is positioned at the bottom, while the country name UNITED STATES OF AMERICA arches gracefully over the top of the design. The Denver mint mark is also present on this side, indicating its origin at the Colorado facility.
