1891 Liberty Head V Nickel XF

Introduced in the late nineteenth century, this five cent piece represents a classic era of American coinage. The obverse displays a dignified portrait of Liberty, who wears a crown inscribed with her own name. Thirteen stars encircle her image, with the year 1891 anchored at the bottom of the design. On the reverse, the coin features a prominent Roman numeral V, representing its five cent denomination. This central symbol is encircled by a decorative wreath, which is itself surrounded by the legend naming the United States of America. The traditional motto, E Pluribus Unum, is positioned at the very top of the reverse design. Minted in Philadelphia, this particular specimen survives in Extra Fine condition, showing crisp details of the original engraving.
