1891-O Liberty Seated Dime VF

0.0723 troy oz .900 1891 Very Fine

The year 1891 marked the final chapter for one of America's most enduring coin designs. Struck in New Orleans, this silver dime represents a classic era of United States coinage. Crafted from 90 percent silver, the coin contains approximately 0.0715 troy ounces of precious metal and carries a face value of ten cents. The obverse side presents a detailed depiction of Liberty in a seated position. In her left hand, she supports a staff topped with a liberty cap, while her right hand rests upon a shield inscribed with the word LIBERTY. The year of issue, 1891, is clearly visible beneath this central figure, surrounded by the legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. On the reverse, a delicate wreath circles the central denomination, which reads ONE DIME. This particular specimen survives in Very Fine condition, showing the characteristic wear of a coin that circulated during the late nineteenth century while still preserving the essential details of its historic artwork.
