1892-O $10 Liberty Gold Eagle AU-55 PCGS

0.4838 troy oz .900 1892 Almost Unc - 55 (PCGS)

In 1892, the United States Mint at New Orleans struck a remarkably small run of ten-dollar gold coins, totaling just 28,688 pieces. Today, finding one of these Liberty Head gold eagles is a notable event for enthusiasts, as the vast majority of the original mintage has been lost to time, melting, or heavy circulation. This specific coin has survived in an exceptional state of preservation, certified in Almost Uncirculated 55 condition. At this grade, the coin retains much of its original luster and shows only minor wear on the highest points of the design. Crafted from 0.900 fine gold, it contains 0.4838 troy ounces of precious metal. The obverse features the classic profile of Liberty wearing a coronet, with the date 1892 clearly visible below the portrait. On the reverse, the distinctive 'O' mint mark of the New Orleans facility is proudly displayed, marking its origin from one of the most famous southern mints in American history.
