1895 Liberty Head V Nickel AG

0.0000 troy oz 1895 Almost Good

The 1895 Liberty Head five-cent piece represents a classic era of United States coinage. This particular coin, preserved in Almost Good condition, showcases a design created by Charles Barber. The obverse features a left-facing portrait of Liberty wearing a crown, with the year 1895 visible below her image. On the reverse, the central focus is a large Roman numeral V, representing the five-cent denomination. This numeral is encircled by a decorative wreath, which is itself surrounded by the traditional motto E Pluribus Unum and the name of the issuing nation. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, this coin is composed of base metal and carries no mint mark, as was customary for Philadelphia issues of this period.
