1903 $5 Liberty Gold Half Eagle MS-63 NGC

0.2419 troy oz .900 1903 NGC

The 1903 gold five dollar half eagle represents a classic era of United States coinage. Struck with a composition containing 0.2419 troy ounces of gold, this piece has been preserved in a notable state of preservation, graded Mint State 63 (MS-63). Its survival in this condition allows observers to appreciate the fine details of its nineteenth-century design elements, which were fully guaranteed by the United States Mint. On the obverse, a left-facing portrait of Liberty is depicted wearing a coronet hair band inscribed with her name. Thirteen stars encircle the portrait, representing the original colonies, with the date 1903 positioned at the bottom. The reverse features a traditional heraldic eagle with a shield draped across its chest, holding an olive branch and arrows. Surrounding the eagle are the inscriptions for the country of origin, the United States of America, along with the five-dollar denomination.
