Struck in 1904 at the Philadelphia Mint, this twenty-dollar gold coin represents the final years of a classic American design series that spanned from 1850 to 1907. Composed of 0.900 fine gold, the coin contains 0.9675 troy ounces of precious metal. This particular specimen is certified in an outstanding Mint State 65 condition, highlighting the preservation of its original details over more than a century. The obverse features a left-facing portrait of Lady Liberty. Her hair is secured, and she wears a diadem bordered with pearls, which clearly displays the inscription LIBERTY. Surrounding her profile are thirteen stars representing the original colonies, with the date 1904 positioned at the bottom. On the reverse, a majestic eagle with outstretched wings holds a shield upon its chest. Above the eagle, an oval of thirteen stars is surrounded by radiating rays, accompanied by the motto IN GOD WE TRUST. The outer edge is inscribed with the country of origin, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, and the denomination, TWENTY DOLLARS.
