0.0000 troy oz 1909 NGC

The year 1909 marked a significant transition for the United States one-cent piece, introducing a design that would become an enduring symbol in American coinage. This copper coin features the detailed profile of Abraham Lincoln on the obverse, looking toward the right. Above his portrait, the words IN GOD WE TRUST are inscribed, while the word LIBERTY stands to his left, and the date 1909 is positioned to his right. Directly beneath the date, the small letter S indicates its origin from the San Francisco Mint. The reverse of the coin displays a clean, classic layout featuring two stylized stalks of wheat framing the denomination ONE CENT and the country name UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. At the very bottom edge of the reverse, the tiny initials V.D.B. are clearly visible, representing the designer Victor Brenner. This particular issue is highly regarded by enthusiasts due to its incredibly low mintage of just 484,000 pieces, making it one of the most famous and sought-after issues in the entire Lincoln Cent series.
