The 1909-S VDB Lincoln Cent stands as one of the most famous and sought-after issues in the entire history of United States coinage. Struck in copper during the very first year of the Lincoln Cent series, this coin represents a major design transition for the nation's minor coinage, moving away from the Indian Head design to honor the sixteenth president of the United States. Designed by Victor Brenner, the obverse of the coin features a detailed, right-facing portrait bust of Abraham Lincoln.
