The 1910 Liberty Head five-cent piece represents a classic era of United States coinage. This particular specimen survives in Almost Uncirculated condition, preserving the fine details of its century-old design for modern observers to appreciate. Made from base metal rather than precious silver or gold, this coin was minted in Philadelphia and served as a workhorse of daily commerce in the early twentieth century. On the obverse, the profile of Liberty faces left, adorned with a coronet or crown that bears her name. The date 1910 is positioned directly beneath her portrait. Charles Barber designed this elegant representation, which is framed by a ring of stars along the border. The reverse of the coin is dominated by a large Roman numeral V, representing its five-cent face value. This central symbol is encircled by a wreath, which is in turn surrounded by the legend denoting the United States of America. At the very bottom, the denomination is spelled out as CENTS, while the traditional motto E PLURIBUS UNUM is positioned just above the wreath.
