1911-D Lincoln Cent AU

0.0000 troy oz 1911 Almost Unc

In 1911, the Denver Mint produced a classic piece of American numismatic history with this early Lincoln cent. Struck in copper, this coin represents the third year of the long-running series, showcasing the early stages of a design that would become a staple of American pockets for generations. This particular specimen survives in Almost Uncirculated condition, retaining much of its original detail from more than a century ago. The obverse features a detailed portrait of Abraham Lincoln facing right, designed by Victor David Brenner. Above his likeness, the familiar motto IN GOD WE TRUST is inscribed, flanked by the word LIBERTY to the left and the date 1911 to the right. Just below the date, the D mint mark indicates its origin at the Denver Mint. On the reverse, the coin displays a simple yet elegant design of two wheat ears framing the denomination. The inscriptions read ONE CENT and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, completing a design that evokes the agricultural heritage of the United States during the early twentieth century.
