1911 Liberty Head V Nickel MS-62 NGC
The 1911 Liberty Head five cent piece represents the penultimate year of one of America's most recognizable early twentieth century coin designs. Minted in Philadelphia, this particular specimen has survived in remarkable Mint State 62 condition, allowing observers to appreciate the fine details of its engraving just as it looked over a century ago. The obverse features the classic left facing portrait of Liberty, surrounded by stars with the date 1911 positioned at the bottom. On the reverse, the design is dominated by the large Roman numeral V, which denotes the five cent denomination. This central motif is encircled by a wreath and the inscriptions UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the traditional motto E PLURIBUS UNUM.
