The 1911 Liberty Head nickel represents the penultimate year of one of America's most recognizable classic coin designs. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, this five-cent piece features no mint mark, which was the standard for the main facility during this era. This particular specimen has survived in remarkable condition, earning a high grade of Mint State 65 (MS-65) for its preservation and original luster. The obverse of the coin features a left-facing portrait of Liberty, crowned with a coronet inscribed with her name, surrounded by thirteen stars representing the original colonies, with the date 1911 positioned at the bottom. On the reverse, the design centers around a large Roman numeral V, which denotes the five-cent denomination. This central element is encircled by a wreath of wheat, cotton, and corn, with the legends denoting the country of origin and the national motto surrounding the wreath.
