1912-D Lincoln Cent XF

0.0000 troy oz 1912 Extra Fine

The 1912 Lincoln cent represents an early chapter in one of America's most enduring coin designs. Struck at the Denver Mint, this copper penny carries the distinctive 'D' mint mark beneath the date on the obverse. Having circulated enough to be classified in Extra Fine condition, the coin still retains much of its original detail, offering a clear window into the craftsmanship of the era. The obverse of the coin features the classic profile portrait of Abraham Lincoln, facing right. Above his image, the reassuring motto 'IN GOD WE TRUST' is inscribed, while the word 'LIBERTY' sits to his left. The year 1912 and the Denver mint mark are positioned to the right of the bust. On the reverse, the design showcases two stylized wheat ears framing the central inscriptions. The denomination 'ONE CENT' and the country 'UNITED STATES OF AMERICA' are prominently displayed. Along the top rim, the traditional Latin phrase 'E PLURIBUS UNUM' completes the reverse layout, making this coin a fascinating piece of early twentieth-century American currency.
