The 1912 Liberty Head five-cent piece represents the final year of regular production for one of America's most recognizable early twentieth-century coin designs. Struck in copper-nickel at the Philadelphia Mint, this Brilliant Uncirculated specimen preserves the sharp details of a design that circulated widely during a transformative era in United States history. On the obverse, the profile of Liberty faces left, adorned with a coronet or crown inscribed with her name. She is encircled by thirteen stars representing the original colonies, with the year 1912 anchored at the bottom. The design, created by Charles Barber, presents a dignified and classical representation of American coinage. The reverse of the coin is dominated by a large Roman numeral V, denoting its five-cent value. This central numeral is framed by a decorative wreath of agricultural products, including ears of wheat and corn. Arcing above the wreath is the country of origin, while the motto E Pluribus Unum is nestled below, just above the word Cents, completing a balanced and historic layout.
