The 1912 Lincoln cent represents an early chapter in one of the most enduring coin series in United States history. Struck in copper at the San Francisco Mint, this coin bears the distinct 'S' mint mark on its obverse side, positioned just below the date. This particular specimen is preserved in Very Good condition, showing the honest wear of a coin that circulated during the early twentieth century. The obverse of the coin displays the famous profile bust of Abraham Lincoln, facing right. Above his portrait, the solemn motto 'IN GOD WE TRUST' arches along the upper rim, while the word 'LIBERTY' stands clearly to his left. The year 1912 is stamped to the right of the portrait, marking a time when the Lincoln cent design was still relatively new to the American public. On the reverse, the coin features a minimalist yet iconic design consisting of two stalks of wheat framing the central inscriptions.
