The 1914 Lincoln cent represents an early chapter in one of America's most enduring coinage series. Struck in copper at the Philadelphia Mint, this particular piece survives in Extra Fine condition, preserving the clear details of its historic imagery for modern observers to appreciate. On the obverse, the coin features a detailed portrait of Abraham Lincoln facing right. This side also bears the word LIBERTY alongside the date 1914 and the traditional motto IN GOD WE TRUST. The design was created by Victor David Brenner, whose artistic vision redefined the look of the nation's minor coinage. The reverse side of the coin displays a minimalist yet elegant frame consisting of two stylized wheat ears. These stalks flank the central inscriptions of the denomination, ONE CENT, and the issuing country, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. At the very top rim, the Latin phrase E PLURIBUS UNUM completes the classic design.
