1915-D Lincoln Cent BU (Brown)
The year 1915 marked a classic era for American pocket change, and this Denver Mint cent offers a wonderful glimpse into that period. Struck in copper, the coin has survived in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, retaining its original details while naturally toning to a rich brown shade over more than a century. On the obverse, the profile of Abraham Lincoln faces right. Above his portrait, the timeless motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" is paired with the word "LIBERTY" to the left and the date 1915, accompanied by the "D" mint mark, below. This side of the coin was created by the renowned artist Victor David Brenner. The reverse features a clean, elegant layout showcasing two stylized wheat ears framing the denomination. The central inscriptions read "ONE CENT" and "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," completing a design that defined American minor coinage for decades.
