1915-S Lincoln Cent Good

0.0000 troy oz 1915 Good

Struck in copper at the San Francisco Mint, this 1915-S Lincoln Cent represents an early chapter in one of America's most enduring coin series. Even in its worn, circulated condition, the coin retains the essential character of its historic design, which marked a significant departure in United States coinage when first introduced. The obverse of the coin features the familiar profile bust of Abraham Lincoln, facing right. Above his portrait, the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" is inscribed, while the word "LIBERTY" sits to his left, and the date 1915 is positioned to his right. Just below the date, the "S" mint mark identifies its origin from the West Coast minting facility. On the reverse, the design showcases two stylized stalks of wheat framing the central denomination. The inscriptions "ONE CENT" and "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" are featured prominently, alongside the traditional national motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM" arching across the top border. This combination of Lincoln's portrait and the wheat ears created an iconic aesthetic that defined the pocket change of generations.
