The 1915-S Lincoln Cent represents an intriguing moment in early twentieth-century American coinage. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, this copper penny displays the distinctive 'S' mint mark beneath the date on its obverse side. This particular specimen survives in Extra Fine condition, showing the fine details of its design with remarkable clarity after more than a century. On the obverse, the coin features a detailed profile bust of Abraham Lincoln facing right. This side is framed by the familiar inscriptions of national identity and hope, including 'IN GOD WE TRUST' along the top curve, 'LIBERTY' to the left of the portrait, and the year 1915 positioned to the right. The reverse side of the coin presents a minimalist and elegant layout. Two stylized stalks of wheat frame the central inscriptions, which state the denomination as 'ONE CENT' and identify the issuing nation as the 'UNITED STATES OF AMERICA'.
