This copper cent from 1917 offers a remarkable look at early twentieth-century American coinage. Struck at the Denver Mint, the coin carries the 'D' mint mark beneath its date, representing a fascinating era of production just as the United States entered the First World War. The obverse presents the familiar profile of Abraham Lincoln, facing right. Above his likeness, the traditional motto reads 'IN GOD WE TRUST', while the word 'LIBERTY' stands clearly to his left.
