0.0000 troy oz 1918 Very Fine

This copper penny from 1918 represents an early chapter in one of America's most enduring coinage designs. Struck at the Denver Mint, the coin has survived in a Very Fine state of preservation, allowing observers to appreciate the artistry and details that have circulated through the hands of past generations. The obverse side displays the familiar profile bust of Abraham Lincoln, facing right. Above his portrait, the guiding national motto IN GOD WE TRUST is inscribed, while the word LIBERTY stands behind him, and the date 1918 is positioned to the lower right. On the reverse, the design features two stylized stalks of wheat framing the central denomination. The inscriptions read ONE CENT and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, topped by the traditional Latin phrase E PLURIBUS UNUM, completing a classic piece of American numismatic history designed by Victor David Brenner.
