In 1918, the Philadelphia Mint produced a massive run of over 288 million copper cents, yet finding one today that retains its original Brilliant Uncirculated luster with a warm red and brown tone is a remarkable encounter. This early twentieth-century coin captures the fine details of a design that became a staple of American pocket change, preserved in exceptional condition. The obverse features the familiar profile portrait of Abraham Lincoln, facing right. Above his likeness, the timeless motto IN GOD WE TRUST is clearly inscribed, flanked by the word LIBERTY to the left and the date 1918 positioned to the right. This simple yet powerful portrait was created by Victor David Brenner. On the reverse, the coin displays its denomination, ONE CENT, and the country of origin, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, framed by two stylized ears of wheat curving along the borders.
