1920-D Lincoln Cent AU
The 1920 Lincoln cent, minted in Denver, represents an iconic era in United States bronze coinage. Struck in copper, this coin displays the classic profile of Abraham Lincoln on its obverse, facing right. Above the portrait, the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" is inscribed, accompanied by the word "LIBERTY" to the left and the date 1920 with the "D" mint mark to the right. On the reverse, the coin features two stylized wheat ears framing the central inscriptions. The design prominently displays the denomination "ONE CENT" above "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA." This combination of the presidential bust and the agricultural wheat ears, created by Victor David Brenner, remains one of the most recognizable pairings in American numismatic history.
