This copper penny from 1920 represents a classic era of American coinage. Minted in Denver, the coin displays a level of preservation categorized as Extra Fine, which allows its design elements to remain distinct and engaging to the observer. The obverse of the coin features the familiar profile of Abraham Lincoln, facing right. Above his portrait, the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" is inscribed, while the word "LIBERTY" sits to his left, and the date 1920 with the "D" mint mark is positioned to his right. This enduring portrait was created by Victor David Brenner. On the reverse, the coin features two stylized stalks of wheat framing the central inscriptions. The denomination "ONE CENT" and the country "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" are prominently displayed, topped by the traditional Latin motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM".
