In the years following the First World War, the United States introduced a new silver dollar designed to celebrate the return of global harmony. Minted during a span that ran from 1921 through 1928, and again from 1934 to 1935, this historic coin represents the final silver dollar issue intended for circulation in America. Each coin contains 0.7734 troy ounces of silver, struck in a 90 percent pure alloy. The artistic composition, created by Anthony de Francisci, draws inspiration from the Statue of Liberty. On the obverse, a left-facing profile of Liberty wears a crown of pointed rays, accompanied by the inscription "IN GOD WE TRUST" spelled with a traditional "V" in the final word. This brilliant uncirculated coin captures the fine details of the original engraving. On the reverse, a bald eagle is depicted standing upon a rocky perch, holding an olive branch in its talons. The word "PEACE" is inscribed at the base, emphasizing the coin's commemorative purpose. This powerful imagery of the national bird looking toward the dawn symbolizes the hope and stability of the post-war era.
