1924-S Lincoln Cent AU
Struck in copper during the pre-1933 era of American coinage, this 1924 Lincoln cent is an intriguing piece of history from the San Francisco Mint. It survives in Almost Uncirculated condition, preserving the fine details of its classic design. The obverse of the coin displays the familiar bust of Abraham Lincoln, facing right. Above his portrait, the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" is inscribed, with the word "LIBERTY" positioned to his left. Below the date, the distinct "S" mint mark indicates its origin at the San Francisco facility. On the reverse, the design features two stylized wheat ears framing the central denomination. The inscriptions "ONE CENT" and "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" are clearly legible, completing a design created by Victor Brenner that became a staple of American pockets for decades.
