1925 Lincoln Cent BU (Brown)

0.0000 troy oz 1925 Brilliant Unc

The 1925 Lincoln cent stands as a beautifully preserved artifact from the interwar era of American coinage. Struck in copper at the Philadelphia Mint, this particular specimen is preserved in Brilliant Uncirculated condition with a distinct brown coloration, offering a glimpse into the original artistry of the series just as it appeared nearly a century ago. The obverse of the coin features a detailed profile bust of Abraham Lincoln, facing right. Above his likeness, the timeless motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" is inscribed, while the word "LIBERTY" stands to his left, and the date 1925 is positioned to his right. This portrait, created by designer Victor David Brenner, remains one of the most recognizable and enduring images in the history of United States currency. On the reverse, the design showcases two stylized wheat ears framing the central inscriptions. The denomination "ONE CENT" and the issuing nation "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" are clearly legible, representing the classic "Wheat Penny" motif that defined the minor coinage of the United States for decades.
