The 1926 Lincoln Cent is a remarkable example of early twentieth-century American coinage. Struck in copper at the San Francisco Mint, this piece carries the 'S' mint mark on its obverse, just below the date. The coin is preserved in Extra Fine condition, showcasing the finer details of its historic design elements that have circulated through decades of American history. Created by the artist Victor David Brenner, the coin features a dignified portrait of Abraham Lincoln facing right on the obverse. Above his bust, the classic motto 'IN GOD WE TRUST' is inscribed, while the word 'LIBERTY' stands clearly to his left. The year 1926 is positioned to the right of the portrait, marking a specific moment in the long-running series. The reverse of the coin presents a minimalist yet powerful aesthetic. Two stylized stalks of wheat frame the central inscriptions, which state the denomination of 'ONE CENT' and the country of origin, 'UNITED STATES OF AMERICA'. At the very top, the traditional Latin phrase 'E PLURIBUS UNUM' arches over the design, completing a composition that defined the look of the pocket change of generations.
