In 1927, the Denver Mint produced a run of 27,170,000 Lincoln Cents. This particular copper coin survived the decades in Almost Uncirculated condition, preserving the crisp details of a design that became a staple of American pocket change. Designed by Victor David Brenner, the obverse features the familiar profile bust of Abraham Lincoln facing right. Above his portrait, the classic motto IN GOD WE TRUST is inscribed, flanked by the word LIBERTY to his left and the date 1927 to his right, accompanied by the D mint mark representing the Denver facility. The reverse of the coin showcases a minimalist and elegant layout. Two stylized wheat ears frame the central inscriptions, which declare the denomination as ONE CENT and identify the issuing nation as the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The Latin motto E PLURIBUS UNUM arches over the top, completing a design that defined the era.
