1929 Lincoln Cent BU (Brown)

0.0000 troy oz 1929 Brilliant Unc

The 1929 Lincoln Cent stands as a classic example of early twentieth-century American coinage. Struck in copper at the Philadelphia Mint, this coin has survived the decades in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, displaying the characteristic brown toning that copper naturally develops over time. On the obverse, the profile of Abraham Lincoln faces right. This side is inscribed with the words LIBERTY and the date 1929, accompanied by the national motto, IN GOD WE TRUST, along the top rim. The design was created by Victor David Brenner, whose artistry established one of the longest-running coin designs in United States history. The reverse of the coin is framed by two stylized stalks of wheat, which curve along the left and right borders. This simple yet elegant framing surrounds the central inscriptions of the coin's denomination, ONE CENT, and the issuing nation, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The Latin motto, E PLURIBUS UNUM, is positioned gracefully above the wheat ears, completing a design that remains a favorite among those who appreciate the evolution of American currency.
