1929-S Lincoln Cent BU (Brown)

0.0000 troy oz 1929 Brilliant Unc

Struck at the San Francisco Mint in 1929, this Lincoln cent represents a classic era of United States copper coinage. The obverse displays the familiar profile of Abraham Lincoln, a design created by Victor David Brenner. Legible inscriptions on this side include the national motto IN GOD WE TRUST, the word LIBERTY, and the date of 1929, which sits below the S mint mark. The reverse of the coin is defined by two stylized wheat ears framing the denomination. This simple yet elegant imagery is accompanied by the inscriptions ONE CENT and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The coin is composed of 95 percent copper, with the remaining 5 percent made of tin and zinc, giving it a rich brown appearance. This particular piece survives in a Brilliant Uncirculated state, preserving the crisp details of its original strike.
