1930-S Lincoln Cent AU
The 1930 Lincoln cent represents a classic era of American copper coinage. Struck at the San Francisco Mint, this coin features the famous 'S' mint mark, indicating its West Coast origin. The coin is preserved in Almost Uncirculated condition, retaining much of its original detail from the year 1930. On the obverse, a detailed bust of Abraham Lincoln faces right. This side of the coin also displays the familiar inscriptions 'IN GOD WE TRUST' and 'LIBERTY'. The design, originally created by Victor David Brenner, has become one of the most recognizable portraits in numismatic history. The reverse of the coin features a minimalist yet elegant design showcasing two stalks of wheat framing the denomination. The inscriptions read 'ONE CENT' and 'UNITED STATES OF AMERICA', topped by the traditional motto 'E PLURIBUS UNUM'. This combination of wheat ears and simple typography defines the beloved 'wheat penny' era of American currency.
