The 1931 Lincoln cent stands as a classic representative of early twentieth-century American coinage. Struck in copper at the Philadelphia Mint, this particular specimen is preserved in Brilliant Uncirculated condition with a distinct brown coloration, offering a remarkably clear look at a design that has transcended generations. On the obverse, the coin features the detailed profile portrait of Abraham Lincoln facing right. The inscriptions surrounding the President include the national motto, "IN GOD WE TRUST", along with the word "LIBERTY" and the date of mintage, 1931. The reverse of the coin displays the traditional "Wheat Penny" motif, characterized by two stylized ears of wheat framing the central inscriptions. The denomination "ONE CENT" is featured prominently at the center, positioned directly above the issuing country, "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA". The legendary design of both sides was originally created by Victor David Brenner.
