1933-D Lincoln Cent AU

0.0000 troy oz 1933 Almost Unc

The 1933 Lincoln cent struck at the Denver Mint represents a fascinating moment in American numismatic history. Crafted from copper, this coin survived the economic challenges of its era in remarkable About Uncirculated condition, retaining much of its original detail and surface quality. Designed by Victor David Brenner, the obverse of the coin features a detailed profile bust of President Abraham Lincoln. Above the portrait, the traditional motto reads "IN GOD WE TRUST", while the word "LIBERTY" and the date "1933" flank the image. Just below the date, the "D" mint mark indicates its origin from the Denver facility. The reverse design is simple yet elegant, dominated by two stylized wheat ears framing the denomination. The inscriptions "ONE CENT" and "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" are clearly struck, showcasing the classic "wheat penny" motif that defined American pocket change for decades.
