The 1934 Lincoln cent struck at the Denver Mint stands as a beautifully preserved example of early twentieth-century American coinage. Minted in copper, this specific coin remains in brilliant uncirculated condition, retaining its vibrant red luster. The preservation of this original color makes it an exceptional specimen for observing the fine details of the engraving. On the obverse, the coin features a detailed profile bust of Abraham Lincoln facing right. This side is inscribed with the word LIBERTY to the left of the portrait, the date 1934 to the right, and the Denver mint mark "D" positioned below the year. Arching over the top is the familiar motto IN GOD WE TRUST. The reverse of the coin presents a classic, clean design featuring two stylized stalks of wheat framing the central inscriptions. Boldly displayed in the center is the denomination ONE CENT, positioned directly above the country of origin, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The Latin motto E PLURIBUS UNUM is inscribed along the top rim, completing a design that defined the look of the American penny for half a century.
