Struck in 1934, this silver half dollar commemorates the centennial of Texas independence. The obverse of the coin features a large five-pointed star positioned behind a perched eagle. On the reverse, the design presents a kneeling figure of winged Victory. This side also incorporates circular medallions containing the portraits of two foundational Texas figures, Stephen Austin and General Sam Houston, alongside a depiction of the Alamo.
