1935-1958 Lincoln Cent MS-66 PCGS (Red, Dates of our Choice)

0.0000 troy oz MS-66 (PCGS)

The Lincoln cent stands as one of the most recognizable and enduring designs in American numismatics. This particular era of the series, spanning from 1935 to 1958, showcases the classic combination of presidential portraiture and agricultural imagery. On the obverse, a detailed bust of Abraham Lincoln faces right, accompanied by the inscriptions of national identity and liberty. The designer, Victor David Brenner, left a subtle mark on this side, with his initials placed at the very bottom of Lincoln's bust. Turning the coin over reveals the traditional reverse design that gave these pieces their famous nickname. Two stylized ears of wheat frame the central inscriptions, which clearly state the denomination of one cent and the country of origin. The words of national unity, including the mottoes seen on the obverse, complete the presentation of this copper classic. These specific coins are certified in a remarkable state of preservation, graded as Mint State 66 (MS-66) with a Red designation. This classification indicates that the coin retains its original, bright copper luster, though some examples from this vintage may exhibit minor, natural spotting. It offers a wonderful opportunity to appreciate the fine details of a design that circulated through the mid twentieth century.
