The 1936-S Boone Commemorative Half Dollar stands as a remarkable silver tribute to the American frontier, struck at the San Francisco Mint with a very limited production of just 5,000 pieces. This particular coin is preserved in an exceptional state of preservation, graded Mint State 65 (MS-65). Crafted from 90 percent silver, it contains 0.3617 troy ounces of precious metal. The obverse of the coin features a stylized, left-facing portrait of the legendary pioneer Daniel Boone. The design captures the rugged spirit of early American exploration, framed by the classic inscriptions of the United States of America and the half dollar denomination. On the reverse, a dramatic narrative unfolds in silver. The design depicts a full-length meeting between Daniel Boone and Chief Blackfish as they stand facing one another. To the left, the blockhouse of Boonesboro is visible, while a rising sun appears on the right horizon, symbolizing a new dawn on the frontier.
