This 1937 copper penny, struck at the Denver Mint, survives in Almost Uncirculated condition. The coin offers a close look at a design that became a staple of American pocket change during the mid-twentieth century. Because of its exceptional state of preservation, the fine details of the engraving remain remarkably crisp and clear for study. The front of the coin features a detailed profile portrait of Abraham Lincoln, facing right. Above his likeness, the familiar national motto IN GOD WE TRUST is inscribed, while the word LIBERTY sits to his left. Just below the date of 1937, the small D mint mark indicates its origin from the Denver facility. On the reverse, the coin displays two stylized wheat ears framing the central text.
