The 1940 Lincoln Cent struck at the Denver Mint offers a remarkably clear window into mid twentieth century American coinage. This particular specimen remains in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, retaining the vibrant red coloration that copper enthusiasts find so appealing. The preservation of this original luster highlights the fine details of a design that has become a cornerstone of United States numismatic history. On the obverse, a detailed portrait of Abraham Lincoln faces right. This side features the legible inscriptions of LIBERTY and the date 1940, alongside the national motto IN GOD WE TRUST. The small D mint mark below the date denotes its origin at the Denver coinage facility. The reverse of the coin presents a minimalist yet iconic layout.
